Ewert Place Gains Planning Consent
New boarding accommodation approved for Summer Fields School
Planning permission has been granted for Ewert Place, a new lodge accommodation building for Summer Fields School in Oxford.
The scheme will deliver 35 pupil bedspaces alongside a four-bedroom lodge parents’ house, three two-bedroom assistant flats and shared ground-floor common areas, all arranged over three storeys within a secluded courtyard setting.
Improving safety, quality and sustainability
The new building replaces outdated off-site accommodation and an existing teaching building that has reached the end of its life, bringing boarding provision safely within the school boundary.
Set around a landscaped courtyard and linking to an existing dormitory, the design creates a secure and sociable outdoor amenity space for pupils. Developed in close collaboration with the school’s governors and lodge parents, the building is designed to be highly efficient, incorporating PV panels, natural ventilation, solar control measures and bat boxes. We look forward to progressing the scheme through technical design and towards delivery on site.
