Clear responsibility within a complex process
OA provides Principal Designer services in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
The role ensures clear responsibility for managing health and safety during the pre-construction phase, coordinating design risk while supporting safe, efficient and well-considered project delivery.
Health and safety embedded in design thinking
As CDM Principal Designer, we plan, manage and monitor the coordination of health and safety throughout the design process.
We work closely with clients, designers and the Principal Contractor to identify, eliminate or reduce foreseeable risks, embedding health and safety considerations within design decisions from project inception.
Proven coordination on complex projects
We have acted as CDM Principal Designer on complex, high-value and multi-phase projects, including works within live environments, historic settings and constrained sites.
Our experience coordinating multiple design teams and specialist consultants allows us to manage interfaces and information flow clearly and effectively, ensuring compliance throughout the pre-construction phase.
Reducing risk while enabling design ambition
Whether appointed alongside our architectural role or as an independent CDM Principal Designer, we provide structured leadership, robust processes and clear documentation.
This approach supports statutory compliance, reduces risk for clients and contractors, and enables projects to progress safely without compromising design quality or programme certainty.
