Creating a new specialist school
Works are progressing well at Rumwell Hall, where OA is supporting the transformation of the Grade II Listed building into a new specialist SEN school for Spaghetti Bridge.
The project will give the historic building a new long-term purpose, adapting its existing spaces to provide a safe, supportive and appropriate educational environment while responding carefully to the constraints of the listed fabric.
Adapting a historic building for its future
As the transformation progresses, significant repair and improvement works are helping prepare Rumwell Hall for its new use.
The building has been re-rendered and the roof renewed, reusing original slate wherever possible alongside new leadwork and sensitively integrated bat access details. Internally, decoration is underway and protective, fire-rated secondary glazing is being installed, improving safety and performance while preserving the character of the historic building.
