Planning Approval for Meadow Barn
A Contemporary Home Rooted in Agricultural Heritage
OA Architecture has secured planning permission for the redevelopment of an existing barn within the Drayton Conservation Area, creating a contemporary, energy-efficient family home.
Working closely with the client and wider design team, the revised proposals involve carefully deconstructing and rebuilding the barn to improve cost certainty, construction practicality and energy performance, with original materials salvaged for reuse wherever possible. The design combines the building's agricultural character with a contemporary extension, incorporating first-floor living spaces, an outdoor terrace and landscaped gardens. An air source heat pump, underfloor heating and highly insulated building fabric will support the creation of a comfortable, all-electric home that responds sensitively to its historic setting.
