Rebuilding the Community Bromham Community Hub

OA were appointed by Bromham Parish Council’s Rebuild Committee to develop proposals for a new community hub building and a wider site masterplan in Bromham, near Devizes, following the loss of the former Bromham Social Centre and Owl Community Pub to fire in June 2021. 

The new single storey building includes a multiuse hall with an associated bar and kitchen, as well as flexible lounge/café space. OA worked closely with the Rebuild Committee and subsequently Bromham Community Hub CIO to continue the progression of the scheme into RIBA Stage 4 after submitting a hybrid planning application in Spring 2024. A wider site masterplan has also been developed as an outline part of the application and includes provision for a new sports pavillion, shop, a terrace of three properties and enlarged car park with EV charging facilities. 

The Hub includes efficient, multi-functional spaces that will re-provide the village and local area with the facilities that been sorely missed in recent years. The hub building has been positioned to maximise views across the fields to the south and west whilst the form and orientation maximise potential for solar PV.
