A new 150-place 2-19 years Special Needs School designed to replace an existing school and constructed in 64 weeks.

The project comprises a number of wings running off a central spine for the class bases that surround open and closed courtyards. Communal facilities – halls, specialist areas, staff areas and a therapy suite – are located on the spine.

Each class base is designed to be passively ventilated and to have a covered external teaching area. Coloured render is used externally to identify different areas of the school.

The building is single storey, designed for future change and covered in a 6,500sqm ‘green’ roof.
