Exploring Oxford Through Architecture and Photography
Discovering Oxford's Architectural Heritage
OA Architecture's Caroline Edwards joined photographer Kari Sherman to host an architectural photography walking tour through Jericho and Oxford's Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.
Bringing together built environment professionals, the evening explored the area's transformation from its industrial and medical heritage into a thriving university and cultural quarter, taking in landmarks including Oxford University Press, the Blavatnik School of Government, the Schwarzman Centre and the historic Radcliffe Infirmary.
A Different Perspective on the Built Environment
Combining architectural history with photography, the walk encouraged participants to consider the relationship between historic and contemporary architecture through light, composition and different perspectives.
Kari shared practical photography techniques while Caroline provided insights into the history and evolution of the buildings encountered along the route. The evening offered an opportunity to exchange ideas, make connections and appreciate Oxford's rich architectural character.
