Rumwell Hall Reaches Practical Completion
Practical Completion at Rumwell Hall
OA Architecture is pleased to have reached practical completion at Rumwell Hall, a Grade II Listed 19th-century manor near Taunton that has been sensitively adapted to provide a new specialist SEN school for Spaghetti Bridge.
The project gives the historic building a new long-term purpose, creating a supportive educational environment while retaining the distinctive character of the existing manor and its setting.
Sensitive Adaptive Reuse
The project has carefully balanced the requirements of a modern specialist school with the conservation and reuse of Rumwell Hall’s historic fabric.
Existing spaces have been refurbished and adapted to provide small-scale teaching and specialist learning environments, supported by an extensive programme of repair and conservation. The approach has sought to make the most of the character and qualities of the existing building while ensuring it can successfully support its new educational use.
A New Chapter for Rumwell Hall
With the building works now complete, Rumwell Hall is ready to begin its next chapter as a welcoming and supportive place for learning.
These first images capture the project immediately following completion, with the new landscaping still beginning to establish. We look forward to returning and sharing more of the completed scheme as the landscape matures and the building settles into its surroundings.
